Good Day All,
Ive been smoking meats for a few months now with my electric smoker. Everything I have made so far has been awesome IMO. I have a question though about smoking a pork shoulder. I recently did a 6 pound one for 1.5 hours per pound (9 hours total) at 225 degrees and it came out great.
I now have a 10 pound pork shoulder I would like to smoke. Going by the 1.5 hours at 225 degrees it will take me 15 hours. I have no issue with it taking that long and am more then willing to put in the time but I was wondering if I were to cut the pork shoulder in half and make two 5 pounders and cook them at the same time side by side on the same rack spaced apart a few inches at the same 225 degrees and I still looking at 15 hours or do I now cut the time down to 7.5 hours?
Any and all help is greatly appreciated!
