My name is Mike Santello.  I live in Florida with my wonderful wife and 2 kids. I have a Stainless Steel ECB - great smoker for newbies.  My intrest for BBQ has increased since I got my ECB.  1st smoke was some ribs.  After reading some info on the mods for the ECB my 2nd smoke was a pork butt.  With the added mods to my ECB - it still needs more mods.  Looking forward to this new art of BBQ.

"Kat, I've noticed there is a 2" gap around my lid once it's on which is causing a lot of my heat to escape from the smoker. . Is there a caulk out there to fix that issue"

With the ECB....mine is electric....the only vent opening in mine is at the top of the lid.  There has to be a place for the smoke to leave...and that is just part of the beast.  Now...for other fixes and stuff....I didnt do any.  Noticed that you have read up on some of the mods.  I know there was a member who used a stove gasket around his lid...and he called it the "neck tie".  Check back in the area again...and see what they say again.

Good Luck!
