Hey everyone-I was referred by jerseyhunter because I was asking questions about smoking venison on another site we both post on. I never knew such a forum existed but I'm glad I found it. I'm a real do-it-yourself hands on type person and I've always wanted to learn how to do this myself. I'm planning on building some type of smoker this summer and getting started some of my venison from this past hunting season. I have a nice little stash of apple wood that I came across while looking for wood to heat my home with. I set the apple aside since I figured it could be put to better uses than heat. Anyway, looking forward to learning a lot.

Welcome to SMF , home of the FATTIE , the ECB , the MES , the EVOO , 5 Day eCourse , Qview and tons of info . You most likely will want to make post number 2 under the newbie section but you have found a good place .

Welcome to the forum... glad you found us! There a lot of folks here that do venison, and have some great ideas and tips. Just holler, I'm sure you will get lots of help. Check for posts by Bilbo for building a UDS (Ugly Drum Smoker), very economical, and good Que!
