We recently purchased a beef, and as I was sorting it into the freezer, I noticed quite a few packages of sirloin tip steaks. I am not familar with cooking these and would like some tips.
Is it a lean cut?
tough cut?
Should I cook it low and slow, or hot and quick?

I would marinate in teriyaki for about 5+ hours and grill directly over high heat. When the meat freely releases itself from the grate flip and do the same on the other side. This is how I cook flank steaks and beef tips.

Agree completely with this. Pair it with some jasmine rice and a veggie of your choice and you have the perfect meal. Lots of protein and carbs!

We use ours a lot for fajitas or stir fry. If you cut it when it is half frozen you get nice thin cuts.

All of the above is good advice. Since you're gonna have many tougher and leaner cuts, I suggest one of these -

They work great. Check out the pic of the sirloin done with it here.

It's a shame it's already cut into steaks.
Here's what I did to an 8 pound Sirloin:
Rare Roast Beef (Smoked for Sammies)

I agree. When I ordered the sirloins, I asked for 1 1/2" thick. I thought I would be getting the ones similar to what I would get at my local market that were 2-3 lbs. They were huge slabs! I don't think my straight sirloins are over .75lbs. I also told them not to trim the briskets at all. They are maybe a foot long and almost even thickness. I was not to pleased with that.
