Hi all!

I'm 38 from Columbia, SC and have finally pulled the trigger to start smoking (meat)! I have cooked and grilled most of my life and have really been wanting to get started with a smoker for a few years now. I recently purchased a cheap Kingsford Sierra Smoker (horizontal barrel with square side box). My initial research led me to SMF and here I am!

Looking forward to the journey of learning from all of you and of course all the smoky deliciousness I am sure to be enjoy along the way!

I am an Environmental, Health, and Safety Specialist for a coal fly ash beneficiation company by day. I coach soccer and sim race by night. I am married with children and enjoy great beer and better food every chance I get!

Good smoking,

Garry

Welcome Garry,

I've been cooking and grilling my whole life also, got a Weber Smokey Mountain smoker two years ago for fathers day.  Life just hasn't been the same!

Thanks Mike!

I have been wearing out that search bar! Tons of great information. I'm looking to cure the smoker this week if it will stop raining and try and get some pork loin done this weekend! Really looking forward to getting started!
