It's been really cold here in So. CA, so thought we'd cook up something to warm the belly. Smoked a pork butt on the drum for 5 hours, then shredded it up and added it to a mixture of blended fire roasted poblanos, jalapenos, tomatillos, anaheims, and onions. Also added beer, cumin, bay leaf, garlic, and S & P, then finished it in the oven in a clay roaster for 2 hours. Here's everything ready to make burritos:

Burritos assembled and ready to top with more chile verde and cheese:

Here they are out of the oven and ready to eat:

Hands down, this was the spiciest chile verde I've ever had...everyone broke a sweat!

Keep up the good smokes, and that description of the ingredients made my mouth water.

Very Nice, Moose. Gotta try that. How much of each pepper did you use and were they all roasted?

Three each of: Poblanos, Anaheims, Tomatillos, and Jalapenos, along with one small white onion. Completely blackened them on the gas grill and let them sweat in a paper bag for 1/2 hour. Peeled and seeded peppers, then put them along with onion in a blender with 4 cloves fresh garlic, and the other spices and some beer, and that was the pepper/liquid mixture.

I'm going to the MOOSE"S house. Man those rittos look great and I like to sweat ehile I eat too. Great job and keep it up fpr all of us out here.

What's up with our temps in SoCal? That meal is typical southwest comfort food. Those are some real tasty flavors you've got going on, congrats from your burrito bud.

sweatin while you eat is the only way to go.........i remember when i was a kid watching my grandpa and all my uncles around the table and everyone of them had a tortilla in one hand and a handkerchief in the other to wipe their sweat! nice job moose!

WOW Moose that looks awesome. I love the hot stuff too. That really looks and sounds like something I gotta try soon - thanks for posting the recipe too -

Excellent burritos! I could eat a couple of them for breakfast.

Nice looking Burritos there Moose!

I like the great presentation with the melted cheese, green onions, and cilantro..? on top; It really looks good..You know, the temperature is in the single digits up here and wouldn't mind a little warm up of the kind you just put together.. I haven't cooked any burritos for some time...with the weather being what it is, today might have to be a burrito day...

That is what I like about this forum, there are so many great cooking and smoking ideas for a fellow to read up on and copy, it is what keeps me coming back...

And all of the great people here too of course...
