Hi all, new to the forum. Smoking in the hot desert heat of Phoenix, AZ. I've been using a smoker box on my propane grill for last year or so and decided it wasn't enough. My wife gave me the green light to buy a real smoker for Father's Day and I finally settled on a Landmann 34" vertical propane smoker. I bought Jeff's book and recipes. As I write this I am seasoning the smoker. I am having some family over tomorrow and doing a tri-tip that I have done 3 or 4 times with my previous setup using whiskey oak chips. I am going with Jeff's rub and a mix of cherry and pecan this time. I am also going to do some of the Atomic Buffalo Turds as an appetizer. I can see myself getting really into this and can't wait to pull my first piece of meat out of this thing!
