    Will this one work? http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv...221578335.html
55 Gal Steel Drum I solid lid - $20 (Chatsworth)
I've got one 55 Gallon Steel Drums for sale. $20
It has a solid top, it's brown, originally stored clean vegetable oil, then I used it for used veg oil storage.
NEVER used to store chemicals, so it could be used to make a BBQ.
Also good for Veggie Oil storage for biodiesel, etc.
I'm in Chatsworth, not far from the 118 freeway.

go to a bakery ...their most always veg oil drums and I got about 3 of them
  7. Being a Saturday, he might be away for the weekend, I bet he responds come Monday.

If no luck, try maybe in the town of San Fernando, or Pacoima (not the best of areas, but I recall in the past seeing lots of drums).

    Just a thought,

In craigslist also try keywords like slicer or bakery or bakery equiptment .... u can also catch places going out of bussiness that would take 10-20 bucks to get something out of their closing store that they didnt think they could make money on...

Many auto repair shops get their oil in drums. You would need to burn it out but it does seem they are in short supply in your area so might be worth it. I did a search and came up with the same guy on Craig's. Around here several companies sell them if you can't find a used one.
