Hello everyone,

So my wife just gave me the amazing gift of a WSM 18.5 for our first Christmas married(I know, she's the best). I know the very basics of smoking from watching online videos as well as reading through Jeff's book, Smoking Meat. I'm from Long Island, NY and can't wait to start using this amazing smoker.

As a complete newbie, I'm going to read through as much of the forum as I can but what would be your best advice to get going or any other information you would like to share that may come in hand. So far i'm looking to buy some good pit gloves, Maverick ET-733, chimney starter and possibly a rib rack. Any other ideas of some must haves?

Hopefully I will have it set up and seasoned to use for next weekend.

Thanks for all the help in advance!
