After smoking my chicken breasts tonight the temp dropped to slightly less than 200. The vents and chimney were both fully opened. What can I do to raise the temp. back to 225-230?
Thanks!
Thanks!
No, I didn't. When should I have done that?
Did you try adding more lit charcoal?

I don't see where that option is. I did put in the "About Me" box. I don't think it's public yet cuz I'm new

When you noticed that the temp was dropping. If I am cooking with charcoal I like to have a chimney full of charcoal ready to light so I don't get caught off guard when the cooking temp starts to drop.

Yes there is a very good reason to add lit coals, you will get back up to proper cooking much faster temp faster.Huh, I just toss more un-lit on to the coals. No need to pre-light
