My name is Jason, and my wife and I currently reside in south - central Pa, right outside of Harrisburg. We recently purchased a 30" Masterbuilt vertical electric smoker. I personally have never smoked anything, but come from a family of butchers who have smoked plenty in their day. We're super excited to start smoking, and I've been reading plenty so far on this site. I'm really looking forward to starting with some baby - back ribs as our first smoke. I'm planning on using some hickory chips along with them. So far, I have our smoker pre-seasoned, and the inside has turned a nice bronze color. The smell that radiated from it was absolutely amazing, and it only made me more anxious to start smoking. I'd love to learn more recipes, and read up on new ideas and tips from the more experienced smokers. Thanks for such a great site!
