Well after a few successful pulled pork weekends, I finally decided to attempt a brisket. I love pulled pork but brisket has always been my BBQ love.
First of all let me start with saying thank you to everyone on this forum. I have spent the last several days pouring over this site looking for tips. I can not tell you how much help it has been.
I started with just a little over a ten pounder from Wal-mart of all places. Didn't want to spend too much on my first one considering I didn't know exactly what I was doing. $3 a pound wasn't too bad of a price. Rubbed it down with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder last night. Sealed it up and into the fridge it went.
Threw it on the grill about 7 this morning and tried to keep the temp around 220-230. Around 9 hours later pulled it out of the cooler and sliced it up.
I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. For being my first brisket, it's tender, it pulls apart nice and easy and has a great flavor. Again I have to give credit to this site and to all of you for giving me the tips and advice necessary to pull this off. Now, time to eat!!!!
