The pipe I will use for my chimney and I'm going to make my firebox out of the diamond plate. What are you going to use them for?
Nice! Thats the best kind!Scored some good steel for free today!!! 4 inch pipe and a sheet of steel diamond plate.
According to the calculator it needs to be 64sq inches. The way i calculated it without out the curve of the tank it came to 90. I will try to see if i can come up with a way to come to a closer number. Any advice is helpful RW thank you.Hey, cut out looks a bit on the small side, I'd double check your math.
What do you mean "the way i calculated it with out the curve..." ? What diameter is your pipe?

If you haven't seen this already, you can use the calculator at this like to double check your math. Use the radius and segment height ED and adjust the segment height ED until you see the segment area is close to the number needed, which sounds like is 64 sq. in. in your case. Hope this helps.
