So Sandra Bullock comes on Leno and brings Myron with her to "earn her clip" Leno's new stunt. Pitmasters is gettin traction for sure. He did cook for the entire show so that was good

Not surprised, Myron seems more like a sell out type than the others.
Johnny Trigg, now he is just a good 'ol boy smokin meat and packin heat not worried about doing his hair and trimming his eyebrows like Mixon.

Yes, you hear what he said about the young kid Trigg was allowing to watch what he does to prepare for the Grand Royal? He said sure he would teach him if he paid! I really liked that last episode. Trigg seems like a really cool dude! I admire him for what he did for the other guy who I find a little annoying. The episode changed my mind about him though because he showed alot of humbleness!

I had planned on taking a cooking class put on by Trigg and Pellet Envy. It isn't happening now since Trigg is famous now and doesn't have a lot of free time. I will probably still take Pellet Envy's class since I'm a Pellet cooker.

For what it's worth, I just finished reading "Peace Love and BBQ" by Mike Mills, 4 time Grand Champ and owner of 17th St. Bar & Grill in Southern IL.

He has a chapter devoted to all of the best comp. teams, and he has a page or two on Myron.

All of Myron's quotes, and references to him by the author, make is seem like he's as kind and down-home as the rest of the guys out there.

So once again, I think his bad attitude on Pitmasters is probably just drama invented to make a "reality Tv" show more appealing to the masses.

Which is why I don't watch 'reality TV'. Once I realized that's what Pitmasters was, I stopped watching. (I.E. about 5 mins in.)

Ditto...save the drama for your mama.

Well, I'll take a scripted reality show with a little BBQ over most of what's on TV anyday.

I still say if you filter out all of the scripted and staged BS and pay attention, you can still pick up a pointer or two.

I watch every new episode. I like Myron. lol his show attitude reminds me of Ricky Bobby. It's a show about BBQ competitions. How could you not like it? They have to dramatize it to get the "average viewer's" attention but if you look past that it's interesting. At least to me. I smoke meat and am interested in doing some competitions.

Mixon was here last year at the Que'n on the Red. Didn't act like that at all. Walked up to his rig, welcomed us in. We talked to him for awhile. He even told us to come back the next day if we wanted. Didn't see that side of him at all. Just part of the show.
