Over smoked turkey

  1. Well been a long time since I fired up the smoker.
Got shoved to working ridicules hours and nights.
I prepped this yesterday and toss in the Masterbuilt gas this morning when I came home.
    And fell asleep. :-(
    Internal temp is 180/185.
I inject some butter into breast and drumsticks, covered with foil.
Not sure what else to do.
I guess I can grind it up.

What do you do if you over cook something?

Until you cut into it you just won't know. I kno w a lot of people that cook their turkeys to 180-185 and claim them to be the best turkey in the world. I myself am a 165-170 kinda guy.

  3. It was pretty good. Not as juicy as I wanted but not dried out either.

  4. . I tried a whole turkey once and it didn't work out. I've done tons of turkey breasts, where i brine them over night and they have been awesome. All i do is stuff the skin with butter and put salt and pepper on the outside. It is my sisters favorite thing i smoke.
