Hi guys,
As the title says, that's what I'm gonna build as soon as I have everything sorted out. I just want to make sure the numbers are going to be right. Where the doubt comes in is all the designs and stuff I see around (and extra work) compared to a Shirley Fabrication smoker. I saw one in person and felt in love with it. But I can't wait 20+ months from now. So I'm building my own.
Example: A single buterfly FB intake or the area under the RF plate being small compared to the feldon's x 1.5 advice. And still the one I saw ran within 4 degrees F from left to right on a 30 x 80. So they have it dailed also, but differently. But Let the numbers speak for themselfs. Here they are.

I also have a drawing which you can see. It's a huge rig and a lot of material! I scored a 30 by 106, 3/8 thick inch pipe at the scrapyard for about 210 bucks in your currency. But now I have to tell the guys at the workshop how to chop it up for me.
So the questions are:
1. Being a cabinet model, I chose the for a rectangle CC in Feldon's. Is that the right choice?
2. That firebox is already huge. So I still have to add the charcoal basket and ashpan to the height I guess. The warmer box is 39,5" (1 mtr) high. On a trailer it's gonna be like 7 ft to the top. But if it have to, so be it then. Is this also correct?
3. Chimney pipe, I'll have them make me a 8", 1/4" thick pipe. I'll make it longer than
suggested as I can always shorten it if needed after testing.
4. With a butterfly which is half a circle surface area I can stick to this diameter as it comes
close to 0.50 I guess. Single intake, twice the size, half the surface area. Right? I only
have to determine the height of it according to the charcoal basket to have air below and
above the grate.
5. The FB/CC opening is 245.76. but x 1.5 would be 368.64 which is more than half of the
30" diameter. So what did I do wrong here?
Hope you guys can help me sort some things out here.
Thank you
