Zippy Meatballs

My wife has been dealing with cancer and health issues the last 15 months and the last few weeks it has her down pretty good. Not wanting sympathy on this but it’s left myself with all the house duties like getting groceries and the winter cooking and it’s been going great.
Normally I kinda shine in the summer on the grill and smoking meats.
I’ve boomed a few supper’s and she’s never complained yet
First up Zippy Meatballs ground beef chopped onions.

Next the sauce was made ketchup, chopped onions,vinegar and spices then the meatballs were brown.

Next up my homemade baked beans

Next up oven fried potatoes with cheese which was simple sliced potatoes , chunks of butter and onion and garlic powder.

Great thing about this meal was everything needed to cook a hour at 350 degrees easy peasy for me.

The aromas of the meal cooking was about as good as indulging on it.

Money shot and I had two helpings. The meatballs and potatoe recipes came from local church cookbooks and I ate these as a youngster just good time tested recipes.

Now the meal looks killer , and I could sit or stand for all of that.

I haven't made meatballs in years. I got too lazy I think and everything has just turned into meatloaf (which has turned into spaghetti a couple of times when I decided that I wanted spaghetti instead of meatloaf) but man am I craving a meatball sub loaded up with whole milk mozz right about now. I ground 3 lbs of beef an hour ago but it's got a plan already but I think meatballs are coming up pretty soon. Like!

Boy that looks good

Don't know what spices you use BUT one thing I add to ground beef in EVERY recipe is:

1/2t MSG per pound of meat.

Just adds that bit of umami--don't know it's there but it sure does add flavour.
