** Trying a Clay Roaster ** with Smoked Ribs , Potatoes and side of Fried rice.
So this is about the Clay roaster I got for $5 last summer and did not use yet. Well until today.
Smoked up 2 packs of pork ribs, cut into singles , rubbed with MC Gospel. Into the Q with Cherry chips.
It is still cold up here, but this week coming it will be above freezing every day Yah !!
Miss the bunkhouse and fire pit down by the lake, this is tonight, still lots of snow.
Back to the ribs.
smoked for almost 2 hours , had the cover to the roaster soaking in water for half hour as this was the first time to use. Because of this water , it steams the food while it cooks.
Chopped up 3 big potatoes and couple onions put in the bottom and topped with all the smoked wings.
Placed in the oven then turned it on to 400 deg.
Left it for an hour and added a boiling hot mix of bbq sauce and water and a touch of gravy mix from a bottle.
And right back in the oven for another 1 1/2 hours.
Cooked up some rice with veg and eggs.
These were very tender and juicy. The potatoes and onions in the bottom were tender but could still pick them up and eat normal.
Love the clay roaster, and read that this will also act as an oven for Sour Dough in my oven also.
So I will try that soon.
Thanks for looking .
David
