That's cool . Those guys are pretty good .
I was gonna ask you if your truck has the upgraded navigation . If it does , it can function as a hotspot if you pay for an account .
Mine came with 3 months free when I bought it . Pretty handy at times .

I just have the basic XLT version. I really wanted one of the upgraded ones but the price was right on this one. Biggest things would like to had is a bigger screen and a Auto temperature. Waiting for power to come back on then if everything works headed to the river for some therapy.

There was a frontier guy working down the street. Got him to come over and put a recovery line in. Now if they can just finish this project without messing it up again. It's pretty much laying on the ground right where they're working.
nice work! good to keep an eye out for workers already there. I have got to know our water guy (probably a mtn thing, the water company we have only services 256 homes), but he has hooked me us a couple times and I know his truck too.

I don't want to know the water guy at my PA house. Since the house was built in 2020 we have not received a bill (water/sewer) and that is usually $105/ month. Our friends built next door at the same time and were not getting billed either. Then a pex fitting popped under a sink (builders plumber's guy put in backwards) and they had a 120,000 flood. Water guy came to both of our houses and still we never got a bill. I am sure it will come back to us when we sell.

Wow crazy! The water company here doesn’t want home owners to have a key to shut off the main valve…🤦‍♂️. No clue why. But the water guy helped me get one. It’s like nothing I’ve seen before

so if you have a problem you have to call them to come and stop it from flooding out your house?

You should have a customer shut off in the house . After the meter , and before the living space .
Either in the meter box or right inside the foundation wall if you have a basement .

Well that was unfortunate especially so close to leaving for travels.

I wish the service writers / dispatchers would search to see if another call is in the neighborhood to jump over and make an emergency repair.
At least you got it patched.

Do you have any means to shut off water at your house?
Code requires an accessible shutoff to the resident.

"I went to put my shirt on this morning and the buttons fell off. Picked up my briefcase and the handle fell off. Went to go out the door and the knob fell off .............. I'm afraid to go to the bathroom ............. "

You fancy folks… and your gadgets! I have a 1995 3/4 ton Chevy extended cab… has around 138K. Love the truck, though put most the miles on my newishly aquired Buick Park Ave. 1998 and had 132,000 on it.

In the Chevy, it’s a cassette and George Strait mostly 💯

In the Buick… it’s classic rock and old school country.

I like these as I can still work on them… I am just an old redneck.

Brian, enjoy your vacation!

The shut off is accessible. The key for it is unusual and took some effort to find. The water guy told me “the management doesn’t want residents to have the necessary key” but he didn’t subscribe to that and showed me his so I could buy one. Strange, I know.

We switched to Starlink and not looking back.

OK, I'll throw my hat into the ring.
We built a new home in 2000 and called Cox Comm for cable tv and SWBell for phone/internet. Both company's used contract locators and installers. First one comes and trenches in the phone line. Next, the cable installer trenches though the new phone line. Repair crew trenches through new cable line. This went back and forth three times, each company trenching through the other company's line. I could not ef'n believe it! Of course this all happened during the day when I was at work. Some peoples kids!
