So Lake Cty, FL
One of the few rain all days in Florida.
I had a lot of SD discard saved up so decided to make some cinnamon rolls to share with our friends.
This is an enriched dough with butter, egg, and discard which requires yeast and and a lot of sugar.
Skipped the mix, rise, roll out, and 2nd rise after the cutting into pieces photos.

Not my better eye appeal after the bake.

My wife slathered it with her icing that increases the eye appeal.

For those that counted, there was 10 rolls in the pan. Gave away 9 tonight. Wife will eat her roll tomorrow and I will try a piece.

A little to much icing for my tastes, but they sure do look good John

Point for sure

Thanks everyone.

Wife absolutely loved it. Said it was better than her mother or my mother's rolls.
Rave reviews from 8 of the 9 given away this morning. 9th hadn't eaten hers yet.

This was the most enriched dough I've ever made. A bit too rich for me and way too sweet. I prefer dough with no added sugars as you put enough in the swirl filling and icing.
Here's the RECIPE I used except my wife make her own icing.

My wife and I disagree on icing. I like a drizzle and you can see her result. Next time I won't go lazy and make it myself.

I can scrap a little icing off. Man those had to be fantastic. I gotta start doing bread... when the kid is s bit older. That looks beyond wow.
That's my thinking with my wife's indulgence. Scrape it off when she's not looking.
My mother was the ultimate bread maker. Wife and I loved it, but the kids preferred the store bought I wonder if it is bread they got fed at school. School is your next adventure on the feeding adventure.
I did replicate her orange rolls which was a favorite for them.
Skip the sour dough and start with full yeast bread or rolls, Tom and see where it goes. Only scary the first couple of tries.

Thanks everyone.
They are an indulgence that many enjoy. I don't recall many posting.
I am still not a big sweet lover but it is getting better. My post Covid taste buds change frequently. I had cauliflower for supper that I used to despise.

The person I actually made them for got screwed. She ate a half piece and left for an appointment. Arriving home her husband ate his piece and her half. I'm going to deliver them separate and name labeled servings future forward.
Funny thing is I called that the night of delivery that it would happen that way.

Next batch will be made with a Swerve product to replace all the added sugars.

Thanks. I've made caramel sticky rolls, but never tried the apple added in the mix.
I made a batch with sugar replacement. I used a drizzle instead of the slather my wife prefers.
Work in progress
