I'm brining a chicken for the first time.  I'm going to smoke it tomorrow and I'm wondering if I should also put a rub on it, or if people usually just smoke the chicken as is after brining.

Also, if I were to grill chicken, would it make sense to add a rub, or are rubs just used when smoking?

Thanks!

I use rubs for both smoking and grilling - justs adds another layer of flavor

The brine is used to keep moisture in the bird and it will add some seasoning if you put it in the brine.

Dust any bird up w/ rub . If you can get some under the skin ,Do so.

rub works on any cooking method except boiling.
