Hello all.
I come to you today from the not so snowy slopes of Ogden, UT.
I actually have never smoked anything, but my bishop is an avid meat smoker and with a 10 ft trailer he's known to smoke just about anything and make it look easy when he does it.
Being a food scientist myself, I thought I might as well give it a try. I'm going to start small, he has a small electric smoker he's going to let me borrow to cut my teeth on, but the real reason I'm here is because I have a 1949 GE fridge that I've been using for my Homebrew soda kegs that has recently developed a freon leak. There are some great vintage fridge builds here, so I've come to soak up knowledge from the experienced and I'll lend my expertise and experience where it's applicable.
I'm a better baker than a bbq-er, so if there is anyway I can dual purpose my fridge as a smoker and a wood fired pizza oven, I'm going to definitely try and pull that off.

Thanks for the warm welcome! Glad to see there are locals here. Indeed I am a fan of not shoveling! It's been quite a while since I had time or money to ski, so I've got no complaints there.

Good morning and welcome to the forum from a pretty nice day here in East Texas, and the best site on the web. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about everything.
