What a lovely picture Cranky! Beautiful woman! Now that makes my Thanksgiving complete. So many memories.
My mom lived to over a 100, and she was just as beautiful as yours. I think age, and the never stop doing things, is what made them wonderful.
Like JJ's Mom, my mother cooked many years on an old Home Comfort cast iron stove. Turkey in at night with enough coals to keep it cooking until morning, then stoke and add wood to finish the bird and skin, cook pies, sides, and such. I'd give anything to have that old stove back again along with it's recipe book. It had some great recipes in it and some how it got lost. None of us remaining kids can find it.
Pump your Mom for all the info you can get. Believe me, after they are gone, you be saying many, many times,
"I wish I could ask Mom. She'd know!"
