Z, hope you made a sale but my question is why?? I am looking at a MB gravity feed and like most of the things I hear about it. Why did you sell yours???

Good question. I was going to sell it because it can be hard to light and the fact that it's not waterproof. But, I decided to keep it. I'm working out the lighting issue and, if/when water damage kills it, I'll deal with it then. In the meantime, we cooked up a storm on July 4th and it was really fantastic. It was very impressive. The weather has been too hot to grill since then but when it cools down a bit I think we'll be using it a lot. Best to you.

1) Shake the ash grate
2) Use 2 MB Firestarter cubes
3) Light and Crack ash door, open hopper door
4) Wait 2 minutes
5) Close doors and cook !

Please try these steps and it will light much quicker and easier.
Glad you held on to it !!

I have the factory cover and it works a charm, very well made and fits properly too.
Get on the horse and buy one.
As to lighting it, buy a burnsomatic bottle and a piezoelectric head and just shoot flames under/into the burn chamber where they want you to place a fire start cube or nest or whatever.
Takes about 30 secs.
I leave the snuffers in place and open the fuel bin door at the same time and when I get a good cloud of smoke going I shut the top door, remove the snuffers and hit play.
