First off, thanks to everyone for all the information on this forum as this really is a great place to learn to BBQ better.

I am really torn between purchasing the Camp Chef Smoke Vault (24") or the Green Mountain Davy Crockett Pellet Grill.  I already have a regular grill, so this one would be 100% for smoking.  If anyone has experience with one or both units I would love to hear from you.  My goal is to have a smoker that really has a balance between convenience and good smoke flavor.  Thank so much in advance for any help you could offer!!

To be totally transparent, I did already post this in the Propane Forum, but got no responses, so hoping for some insight.

Thanks again!

I have had a SV24 for several years & have smoked on it hundreds of times.

It is still going strong.

Don't know anything about the pellet grills, but they seem to be quite popular.

For convenience, nothing beats a pellet grill. In my opinion, pellet grills do have really good smoke flavor, but not strong smoke flavor. Some folks are very disappointed in the level of smoke flavor they get from pellet grills, especially if they are used to charcoal, stick, or chip burners. I'd suggest, if possible,  trying some food from a pellet grill before you buy.

Thanks so much for the responses.  This is really helpful.  In terms of the Smoke Vault, do you find you can "set and forget" it apart from refilling wood and water (i.e. the temp remains steady and such)?
