Long time browser/follower... first time poster. Grew up in FL and TN and have been smoking since I was a teenager. Military brought me to Hawaii and loved it so much decided I couldn't leave. So here I sit, soaking up the surf and sun and good weather and needed something to make my BBQ side business a little easier. Inspired by some design I've seen here, mainly real57vetteguy and his center firebox design... thus I present you with my own custom design. Just finished paint last night... time to burn it off and season this afternoon... and see how it holds temps. Got it set up to put a propane burner inside.. or a tray for charcoal and splits. Removable upper stack section. Racks slide out. Baffle plate slides out. I like options... Not bad for a 100 gallon propane tank and some 1/4" steel. Fingers crossed she heats like a dream.

Welcome from Gilbert, AZ! I lived over the pali in Kailua Village right across the street from the ocean for a couple of years when I was a kid, remember a little lava island about 100 yards off the beach. Nice looking rig, fire it up and post your cooks, no pictures, it never happened. RAY

Not a bad spread... briskets to the right, pork shoulders to the left... spare ribs and tenderloins on top. Mmm mmm good. Smell of hickory and cooking meats is therapeutic. Doing a little bit of everything tonight. Combo of propane burner and burning sticks. Holds 225-250 like a dream and smoke rolls beautifully out the stack. Looks like a success... might need a second one now. Every bit of this is sold to paying customers.
