Smoked then Fried chicken legs

  1. I was wondering if any one has ever smoked some drum sticks then breaded them and deep fried them for a bit to get the skin crispy. I have a good breaded wing recipe for chicken wings. I'm just wondering how deep frying already smoked meat would work. Will it wreck the meat?

    Haven't heard of anyone trying this give it a go. Drums are cheap so if it doesn't work no loss. If it does you may start a new craze. Let us know how it works

    I have done this few times. I smoke them until IT around 140. Then deep fry them.......you will love it. So go for it.

  5. Did u let the chicken cool first or just go straight in to the batter?
