    Hi all,

I just stumbled across your site while looking for recipes for brisket.  I'm a NYer through and through, but a big fan of southern cooking.  Being in the city presents a bit of a problem for smoking meat.  So, I was looking for good slow cooker recipes for brisket.  But, ideally, I'd like to find a way to replicate smoked brisket as closely as possible, given the limitations of a city kitchen.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  Thank you in advance for any/all advice!

[IMG]Welcome to the site. I'm new here as well. I love this site!!! It's the only site I use when looking up anything and everything BBQ.  There is great people who know a ton about BBQ as well as instructions and pictures to help guide you through the process. I use my crock pot for pulled pork if i don't have time or during the week if I'm in the mood for pulled pork.  What I do with pulled pork is rub it the night before with my favorite rub and put it in my crock pot overnight. The next morning I cover the pork with Dr. Pepper(normal use the Store brand its cheaper). Set it on low for 8 hours come home take out pull it and add sauce and dig in.  This would work well for beef as well just never used brisket I've always used a beef roast that's on sale normally they don't have as much fat as brisket but it works. Make sure you use a sauce that complement your meat and your tastes. For beef I like a little bit more of a vinegary sauce but pork its sweeter, both bases of the sauce are tomato if you make your own.
