New to smoking

  1. Hi, I just joined to hopefully get the courage to plug in my new 30" electric Masterbuilt smoker.  I live in New Mexico.  Where do I start?

    What do you like? I started by smoking pork butts and chicken thighs. Chicken thighs are great because they are relatively inexpensive and the end results are great. Or you could go big with a brisket!!!!

  4. Glad you joined the group. The search bar at the top of any page is your best friend.
    About anything you wanna know about smoking/grilling/curing/brining/cutting or slicing
    and the list goes on has probably been posted. Remember to post a QVIEW of your smokes.
    We are all smoke junkies here and we have to get our fix. If you have questions
    Post it and you will probably get 10 replies with 11 different answers. That is
    because their are so many different ways to make great Q...

  6. Thank you all for the welcome.  I just ordered Jeff's book so I will have some ideas for what to do with the meat before I put it in the smoker.
