Hello from Iowa

Hi from the Midwest. Well I'm pretty much I total beginner. I have a Brinkmann Sportsman Charcoal smoker. I never do anything special just a chicken or give a ham some extra smoke.

But am thinking about getting a 3405BGW from Walmart for a easier way to regulate heat. That's how I found the site was looking to see if it's any good. BTW seems so. Just might need to add a valve so it will run cooler.

I've been living in Iowa 6 1/2 years now and this has been the worst winter i've seen. I can take the snow but the ice and wind chills we've had have been real nasty. I personally don't get the cabin fever. I'm the one who is outside chopping firewood, walking dogs, blowing the snow off the drive etc. The wife on the other hand is getting it real bad.

Anyway, have fun here c2s, as kookie says great place, great people.

And teeotee I've been here for 35 years and this was one of the worse ones. At least it normally just get bad for a few days warm up melt it all off and start again. This year it just keeps piling on.

c2s welcome from another Iowan. In what part of the state are you located. Some areas of Iowa experienced a lot more winter than others. Although, it was bad everywhere.

. Please take some winter, think we've all had enough. We've had snow on the ground in our yard since thanksgiving. Was kinda funny, had the wifes family visiting from Phoenix. They froze their butts off.
