Harissa Chicken

  1. About a week ago I commented on a turkey Smoking Vegas had smoked, and I asked her about the herb blend. She told me it was a blend that she sold on her website. One of the blends she sent was the Harissa middle eastern spice blend. Let me start by saying that this stuff smells AMAZING! Following her directions, I mixed 1/2 cup of the Harissa seasoning with 1/2 cup of water and let stand for 10 minutes and then added a cup of EVOO and then poured that in a ziplock with 4 split breasts and into the fridge for the night. Put them in the smoker about 30 minutes ago. Will serve them sliced on flat bread with with a yogurt sauce made from a cup of yogurt, 1 TBL of Harissa seasoning, 1/4 cup of grated cucumber, 1/4 cup of chopped green onion, and then top with diced tomatoes. Can't wait for these to come out.

  2. Chicken fresh out of the smoker. It really browned up with all of the olive oil on it.


    Had a fresh veggie mix to go with it.


    All plated up on flat bread with the yogurt sauce on top.


    The contrast of the spicy seasoning on the chicken with the cool yogurt sauce is fantastic. We will be making this again. Thanks again Smoking Vegas.
