I finally got around to cookin up my first ever Tri-tip. I've actually never really EATEN Tri-tip, let alone cook it As some may know from my prior threads, I bought a brand new Weber 22.5" kettle, and I decided to break it in with some BEEF. Turned out DELICIOUS. Enjoy! --- Here's the USDA Choice Tri-tip from Costco, seasoned with kosher salt, fresh cracked black pepper and garlic powder: Charcoal Chimney at work... the flames would NOT go down, and kept burning like a wild fire! Any tips for that? Seared ~3 mins per side over direct heat, with some Hickory chips added: Indirect Heat for ~30 mins until hit 135F internal temp: After resting under foil tent for 15 mins with carry-over temp to 141F: Sliced and ready to eat!
