Good Evening Folks!

Might as well jump in with both feet, since I have been lurking here just before Christmas...

I am Duane and I live in the the Raleigh Durham area of North Carolina. I am married, and have been for 25 years (to the same woman) and have a freshman daughter who attends the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Before today, I was a complete newby to smoking meats, but after a generous gift from a vendor friend of mine, I have now been baptized in smoke. I am the owner of a 40" MES with absolutley no mods at this point.

I have been on this site almost daily since just before Christmas, and have taken all 5 e-courses offered by Jeff.  I downloaded and successfully used both his rib rub and sauce recipes today with great success. I have to admit, that meat was pretty darn good, and I couldn't have done a better job (at least in my newby opinion).

I know, I know, with no pictures, it really didn't happen, but my belly, my wife, daughter and her boyfriend will all attest what a great meal we just finished. I promise there will be more pictures in the future.

Well, that's about it for me.... I look forward to gaining more information from all of the experts here, and hope to contribute what I can.

So I will thank you all now for what I have learned from you this far, and what I will gain going forward.

Duane

Duane,
Welcome, from southern Ohio, to the best forum on the internet if you are looking to learn how to BBQ/smoke/brine/cure/inject. Well you get the picture if you can do it to something you put on a plate to eat then someone here has probably done it then smoked it.

Use the search bar at the top of the page and you will be led to the answer to most every question you can think of. If you don't find the answer there then just post it and someone will chime in with their opinion on the subject.

Always remember the only dumb question is the one you don’t ask!!
GO BUCKS!!
Keep Smokin!!!

Glad you joined the group. The search bar at the top of any page is your best friend.
About anything you wanna know about smoking/grilling/curing/brining/cutting or slicing
and the list goes on has probably been posted. Remember to post a QVIEW of your smokes.
We are all smoke junkies here and we have to get our fix. If you have questions
Post it and you will probably get 10 replies with 11 different answers. That is
because their are so many different ways to make great Q...
Happy smoken.
David
