I have had this weber a very long time and is still a great grill. I mainly use it for steaks as it normally gets very hot and i can do a ribeye in about 5 minutes. I have put SS on all my grills and been happy with them except this one. It does not get as hot as it did with the Cast Iron. I decided to see if I could restore them. Soaked in vinegar over night and cleaned them up this morning. I thought they were regular CI but it loos like they are porcelain coated. I probably had them 20 years and got my money worth from them. Now to decide what to do? Just keep SS or buy another Porcelain Cast Iron Grill set or regular cast iron?

Last night I decided to use the vortex upside down on my beloved Char-Griller. Man that worked great! Also made John's Ultimate Mashed Potatoes. Wow were those good! Insane amount of butter.

Check out Grill Grates. I replaced my SS stock weber ones with GG's and love them, highly recommend.
Same here, got them for both my E210 and Q1000.Very versatile having that flat side which I actually cook on the majority of the time.

Pricey but worth it imo.I bought mine when they had 35% off black friday deal so it eased the pain.

Man those things are high. One of the things i am missing about the SS is I am not getting the flames that I did with the CI and it sounds like you dont get any with those grates? I kind of like the char from the flames.

When was the last time you did the burners ?

I see that model does not have the heat deflectors like the newer Genesis models , just the flavor bars . If you think the burners are in good shape , I'd replace the grates with stock cast iron .

You still have the 410 ?

Rarely get flare-ups but the GGs get so hot that you really don't need the flame char.

the sear marks are like no other, and they reduce the mess in the grill by a big margin, not a lot falls through. I was skeptical about their claim the grill heats up faster, but I am a believer now.

My little Q1000 gets so unbelievably hot. I installed my own lid therm and it pegs it every time when the grill is on high.

Never changed burners but seem to be good. It does decent with the SS but just not like the cast iron did. Steaks take longer. I going to think about this. I still have the 410 but not use it much. I normally use charcoal except if weather bad or I am just lazy.

That design was form early to mid 2000's ?
If those burners are original , you might be getting some heat loss there .
Might be something to consider .

I just did my 310 last summer . Bought in 2015 or 16 . All the burners would light , but one wasn't as strong as the others . Made a difference .

I will be doing my spring cleaning soon and will take a good look at them.. The only time I hate having so many grills and smokers when it is time to give them all a good cleaning!

Replacing burners definitely helps. Never hurts to replace the regulator assembly either as this made a real difference on my E210.
I tore mine down and cleaned everything real good. used compressor to blow out the burners and tried to not get any crud in them when disassembling. worked like new after, but prepared to buy new ones if/when the flame gets all orange and "chary"
