So I was able to pickup another bag of TT at GFS for $3.49#. Cleaned them up froze three and seasoned the other two and tossed them in the fridge till this evening. An hour or so before smoking I toss them in the freezer to smoke them longer which in my opinion works great! Seasoned one with Kosomos cow cover the other with Blues Hog bold and beefy. We ate the Blues Hog one tonight just sliced with mushrooms and onion with asparagus as a side. Planning some taco’s and who knows what with the leftovers.

Man all that looks perfect! Tri Tip is a staple in our house. Couple times a month. I like both those rubs you used as well. Great price on the meat. Ours is $5.46lb but I don't complain after I see what others on the site are paying for it. Nice work bud

All looks fantastic!! Tri tip had finally made its way to Ohio. I find it pretty routinely at Savealot and Kroger. Prices are usually reasonable as well.

Looks awesome! Wished we could get them around here. Maybe jcam222 jcam222 can send some over from Ohio! Guess I'll drool over all your pics until then

Whole meal looks delicious, and what a deal on the Tri tip. I’m paying $7.99 a lb for it here in Michigan.

Really nice lookin tri tips. $9 a pound here in Knoxville so I’ve moved on to prime sirloin cap at Costco. Bunny works there and she’s trying to get them whole with fat cap before they cut and trim if possible.

Looks good! I could get a case special ordered for around $6/lb, it’s more if you buy smaller quantities.

Then, the one grocery store that carries them wants $13.99/lb for them!

Thanks TNJAKE, it’s scary what some have to pay for this cut.

Thanks Brokenhandle, I never use to see them and am very happy my GFS Foodservice store still carries them. I do remember getting them for $2.49# years back it was such a deal!

Thanks SRS, good luck getting your cap! Maybe butter the butchers with some BBQ or sweets.

Thanks xray, I had to pay that price once. The ends make great additions to cheese and crackers!
