Fell asleep on this one.
Most of that stuff I don't shop for as my wife won't eat it and I don't care for more than 1 serving (at best).
Walmart back in Minnesota always has beef tongue.

Well, you could have swung by Syracuse Casings for some hog or sheep casings, gone to European Specialties in the Westvale Plaza for some good Eastern European sausages (try the kabanosy and szynkowa) or some of their smoked fish, cured meats, spectacular breads, etc. Or you could have stopped at the Hoffman's store for some Hoffman's hot dogs, Franks or Coneys.

Or you could have.......

Familiar with all those, but never stopped at Syracuse Casings.

I tried the kabanosy and some other salami and sausages at the European Market but think Liehs and Steigerwald is much better for that.

Hoffman isn't the same these days. I prefer Glaziers.

Have you tried Eva's Polish restaurant?

Bill, we buy 5/1 (5 to the pound) Nathan's all beef hot dogs at the local Restaurant Depot. We prefer them to Hoffman's, Sahlen's from over Buffalo way or anything we've found in the south.

We had a 90 acre farm between Auburn and Skaneateles for 20+ years and sold it in 2017 to move full time to our North Carolina place.

We have been to Eva's a number of times and generally enjoyed it.

My maternal grandparents were Czech and Polish so we're pretty particular about pirogi and such and tend to make our own in big batches a few times a year and freeze them in meal size batches. My wife makes a very supple and tender sour cream dough for them. If frozen on sheet pans before vacuum sealing they keep very well..... Unless you forget to pierce the bag before thawing them in which cast they become a gloppy mass impossible to separate. :emoji_scream:
