SmokinAl SmokinAl posted a while back (twice - link below) about smoking ribs from frozen. Today we found ourselves in the same predicament...we wanted ribs, two other couples were coming over, and the ribs were frozen in the deep freeze.

I looked up SmokinAl SmokinAl 's post and was off to the races...

FWIW - the ribs thawed in about 30 minutes in my MES40 set at 250F (temp verified). We will do this again as I can see no downside other than trimming the ribs after the cook instead of before. Here are the pics.

I have gone to using SmokinAl SmokinAl Vortex ribs and will never look back to the traditional 3-2-1 method. 45 minutes instead of 6 hours!
