I have one very similar and it is better than the unit I bought years ago to cut drugs...
We had an arthritic cat on pain meds and I cut the capsules so it could be evenly administered over a 24 hour period. Scale proved very useful to start weighing my ingredients instead of the random measuring spoons.
Follow the thirdeye recommendation to find a smaller item of know weight to check the accuracy.
