Smokin-it has introduced new versions of their model 2 and 3 smokers, the 2D and 3D. The D indicates that it is digital. What Steve did was over the last couple of years was experimenting with integrating digital controls into his line of smokers. After much work and tweaking, he was ready to introduce them. Prior to that if one wanted digital control, it was home-brew or or purchase the Auber as a separate unit. Now it is fully integrated, and according to those who have made the purchase, they work wonderfully and are very steady and accurate. Their Model4 will ship in 2016, with the controller built in. A benefit of this, according to the information on the SI site is that the 2D and 3D will hit 300 degrees and the 4D will go higher, for those who want a higher temp.
