I only travel once a year and that is to do something with my brother and his wife. We missed Mexico last winter so going to Melbourne tomorrow. I hate the traveling part! I love hanging out in Cocoa Beach. We hang out at the Beach Shack and Coconuts on the Beach. Hopefully we will find some bands. Oysters around here suck so looking forward to some good ones. Be fish and seafood for the next week. Forgot this is Easter Sunday. My brother has a Thai Temple close to his house and on Sundays they have really good Pho. Is it wrong to go to a Thai Temple on Easter?:emoji_wink:

Nice Brian, enjoy your trip. And do what you want . I don't see a problem with where you go on any day, but that is me. And I understand your question. You can pray where you want and also eat where you want.

As for where you are. I like the Melbourne area, Mona's sister had a house in Palm Bay. Just sold it last year . I enjoyed just being there and lots of things to do when brother inlaw was still with us.

Enjoy your trip and like you said . Enjoy the seafood

David

Lived in Melbourn in the mid 70's for a couple years. had a great meal there about 15 years ago and can't remember the name of the place :emoji_disappointed:, best grouper with a cream sauce I have ever ate, I use to love fishing at Sabastion inlet, they are redoing the pier but would be a good place for a walk if they are done yet. Bring back some pictures

If you want actual good seafood, go to Seafood Atlantic in Port Canaveral. Freshly caught, local fish. You can eat at the restaurant or buy fish/shrimp/crabs/oysters per pound to cook at home.

Other unsolicited recomenatios for stuff to do up-and-down that part of A1A:

Looking for some history: take the Canaveral Lighthouse Bus Tour. You'll see launch pads up close (including the Apollo 1 disaster site).

Ecco tourism: Go on a kayak tour of 1000 islands to see manatees and dolfins.

Check out the rocket launch schedule. Best views are probobly from Jetty Park, but you'll have a good view from anywhere.

For additional Buddhist serenity on your easter Sunday, explore the White Sands Buddhist Center (in Titusville).

Have a great trip!

Enjoy the trip and visit with your brother! I always loved good local seafood places. I always looked for the places the locals liked.

We ate at a place called Shells, really good fish and chips, and seafood .
It is in Melbourne on the 195. It is more of a local spot. There is one over on beach side , but we never went to that one. Now I have not been there for about 5years or so.

Have fun no matter where you go Brian.

It's a choice. Plenty of fodder for irritation, but I try to appreciate how much I'm seeing & doing that is - if nothing else - so different than my usual day-to-day. Kid on the plane is screaming? Remember that hurtling through the air, five miles above the ground, at hundreds of miles per hour, with unsurvivable temperature/pressure a mere twelve inches from your elbow... that's both a beautiful wonder AND reason for any sane creature to scream!

Is it wrong to go to a Thai Temple on Easter?:emoji_wink:
Aww, man, just missed Songkran (Thai New Year)!

Two launches this week. Both with boosters landing back on land. That's a pretty incredible sight to see, especially at night!! Plus you get the double sonic booms!
