Was able to get out in the woods this past week and had to do a proper meal to match the scenery of the Tetons…..

First up the camp set up…..this is a dry national forest camp ground (ie no utilities)…..so the solar setup and the custom built 4 golf cart battery setup (yes by me) is perfect in the new trailer!
IMG_2348.jpeg

Next up the kitchen view….. starting to render the loin fat and roasting some tails….oh notice the bear box…..this is big bear country aka brown bear big!
IMG_2345.jpeg

The view from the flat top…..aka this was a Throwdown prize it’s perfect for the trailer! Also trying out the quick connect LP lines, just sweet not needing a separate LP tank for cooking). Starting the slow sear on some pearls
IMG_2344.jpeg

the steaks and tails are starting to get some nice color!
IMG_2352.jpeg

Dropped some seasoned portobello thick slices on the flat top….both in fresh chopped rosemary butter
IMG_2351.jpeg

Once the loins were to temp and resting I moved the Bella’s over to the grill to get a little fame sear and to finish the tails to a INT of 145, these were brushed with the same rosemary butter and S&P….
IMG_2353.jpeg

All done and ready to start platting…..oh man!!!
IMG_2354.jpeg

While I was doing the outside cooking Mrs Civil was making some rosemary butter roasted baby gold spuds in the trailer oven…….. yes this a camp meal!

Oh this was to celebrate 31 year with the Mrs.! Pure money!

Much appreciated jim! I drive the trailer too…lol…. Planning on a 14 day “living” stay in Southern Utah in the spring….but with utilities…I can work remotely and the wife can have some warmth!

Nice ! I miss camping . Heals the soul .
Did you leave the home forged steak knives at home ? Lol .
Thanks for posting .

…….camping. Heals the soul….
Yes I fully agree….there is no cell service at this camp either so truly “off the grid”. Cooking, siting in the mountain air reading a book….sitting by the fire…… that’s soul food!

LOL - I have a set of steak knife’s on the list….but a Damascus ice pick for the Mrs is above that!!!!!…..and for some reason I don’t get to keep my knife’s…..they become other peps knives…..

You are welcome to and thanks chop!!

What a great looking meal amongst great scenery! And CONGRATS on the 31 years!!
Much appreciated GS! It was a nice trip!
Nice! Great cook! Nice scenery! And congrats on over 30 years of marriage!

P.S.
Nice diesel truck.
Many thanks yankee!

PS on the truck you would like that it’s got manual shift to 4x4 not the electronic switch….it also has a Ram factory 4 inch lift with the 4x4 package…..but best of all it’s a dream to pull with!!! There is a 10 mile long 10-12% grade to this camp ground…..I don’t have to even touch the brakes once the transmission and exhaust brake is “set”

Thanks Steve, your camp pics got me inspired!
Man what a set up. Camping in style. Food looks killer!
Thanks Brian! This is how we vacate! I have spent way too much time on planes over the years so this is the dream in life!

I'D HAVE TO BELIEVE THE TERM "ROUGHING IT" DOESN'T APPLY. BEAUTIFUL SCENERY OUT IN THE WOODS, NO CELL SERVICE, GOTTA LOVE IT!

Congrats on 31 years! great views and meal.

Thanks RAY and yea “roughing it” is a loose term for sure…lol. We are fortunate to have this be our “back yard”
