I finally completed all the modifications to my Bradley Smoker. I added a PID controller, 1200W heating element (w/SSR) and a convection fan. Overall I am very pleased with smoker.....the mods fix many of the short comings of a stock unit.

The PID controller is a JLD612 which drives a 25A SSR(solid state relay) that is connected to the 1200W heating element. The convection fan is from a Jenn-Air oven that I found on EBay. To use the JLD612 controller the original temp probe needs to be converted to a K type thermocouple.

With a little creative circuit surgery I was able to utilize the existing "Oven Timer" circuit to automatically turn on and off the JDL6212. This is a really nice feature, I can set both the smoke timer and oven timer just like the original.....no extra timer(s) needed.

I attached a few photos showing the modifications made to my "FrankenBradley"
