Hi Everyone

I have bitten the bullet and placed an order for a Texas Original Lugling offset smoker.

Currently I still have sacks of apple tree fine chips/sawdust for my existing smoker (that is a " modified electric clothes drying cabinet) . Probably a stupid question but can I successfully use a small "cast iron" sawdust filled smoking box put on top of a bed of hot charcoal etc in an offset smoker to flavour the meats....thanks in advance

You can but with the increased area it may not help much due to the size of the area and its low volume, most of those are for use on a grill for hot and fast cooking and they work well for that,I had 1 and misplaced it over the years
