Thermoworks  (the makers of the Thermapen) has another open box sale with up to 50% off on their non-contact type infrared thermometers.  This sale was sent out to their registered email clients only and is not generally advertised.  Here is a link to the sale if anyone is looking for a high quality non-contact thermometer.  Prices start at $12 and there are a lot of models under $100 during this sale:

Unfortunately this sale does not include the Thermapen models.

I saw that model.  Same shape and overall look as the super fast Thermapen, but it's not as fast.  Looks to be a standard type thermometer but still a nice unit.
Combo Thermometer Infrared with Fold Out Probe

Model #814-065
Use the Infrared Combo Thermometer to scan for immediate surface temperatures, or fold-out the probe and get an accurate internal temperature in seconds. (Not as fast as the ThermoWorks Super-Fast Thermapens. The Infrared Combo Thermometer will typically reach within 1° of a final temperature in ice water within 8 to 10 seconds, which is still much faster than most pocket thermometers on the market.
