Name: JB
Occupation: Software Design
Hobbies: Recording and playing music, most sports, BBQ (duh), and most recently (and importantly), being a daddy!
BBQ story:
I've got some friends who have always been BBQ snobs. You know the type (look in mirror - now)...the ones who are quick to interject that hamburgers and hotdogs over an open fire is not BBQ. I fought with them for a while. Having owned a Weber 22.5 kettle for some time, I decided to get a Smokenator. I slowly (pun) became better and better. I started with pork shoulder and moved on from there. I've since smoked many great pieces of meat and, as of about a month ago, I upgraded to a WSM 22.5. Of course, I now agree that grilling and BBQ are two different things altogether.
I have now given my Smokenator to a close friend and I'm showing him the ropes. I may eventually upgrade to a wood/firebox type of smoker but for now - I *love* not adding wood every hour. Even if I do upgrade, I will keep the WSM...it's been great. Here's to hoping the WSM will burn LONG and SLOW for many many many hours straight.
Peace.
