Well just picked up my very first smoker yesterday even though after more reading I'm not as optimistic about it as I was when I bought it.
Starting out I didn't want to spend $200-$300 on a smoker. I was originally going to get the simple little Brinkman "Green Gourmet" smoker but came accross the Brinkman Square Vertical smoker that looked like a better option. Has adjustable intake and vents, real thermometer instead of the cheap one, and two nice big doors to access the fire and meat seperately.
After reading some folks responses about this smoker I'm regretting the fact that I don't have a couple hundred to fork over on a smoker. Oh well, this guy will have to do for now. I plan on smoking some TriTip for my first attempt this weekend.
I'm getting into smoking as I know a person who is turning out some great stuff on his smoker that just tastes delicious. My setup won't be nearly as nice but hopfully I can get meat close enough to the quality.
I will let ya'll know how my first smoke went this weekend hopfully. :)
