Mes 30 question

I’m finally ready to buy my first smoker. Been reading on here and decided to get the early model mes 30. I only do small smokes mainly for me and my family so I think the 30” will be plenty I found this and wanted to double check to make sure this is the gen 1 I think you guys call it mes30. That supposedly doesn’t have the problemsof the newer one? Also is the difference between this and the sportsman elite mainly the window?here is the link. Is $218 a good price? It sure looks like a Gen 1 MES 30 to me Brian. But..... mine doesn't have a remote control. Mind you, mine doesn't have a window either. LOL.
Hopefully Bearcarver will jump in here. John is the expert on MES.

Like Gary said, That is the MES30 Gen #1.
It's a great Smoker, second only to the Gen #2.5.
As for the price, I don't follow the prices on MES 30 units, but I would guess that's about right for one with those options (Window, Remote, etc)
