Dear all,
Last week i received the Weber smokey mountain 22.5 inch i ordered from Amazon. I love it. I started smoking with a propane grill with a place for wood chips. i smoked burgers and dogs and some steak it was fun. then i wanted to get "serious" with smoking and went out and bought a $40 Cheap bullet. i smoked anything i could get my hand on with that thing. ruined a lot of meat. i had no idea what i was doing, heck i even used matchlight.(eek!) I experimented with rubs and with bbqing in general. then after a year and a half of doing that and sometimes making good eats, my wife bought me a char broil 6 foot barrel offset smoker. I started reading these forums and doing research watching video and picking up tricks and tips form here and there. and with my cheap walmart smoker i started to make good meat. at work i became popular bringing in brisket and ribs for everyone. I got good with my rub recipes and my technique.then a few months back a woman at work wanted to know what kind of smoker to buy her boyfriend. I told her i have done a lot research and the best one i have found for a decent price is the WSM. so she read the review and bought him an 18 WSM and they were happy. then i come into a little extra cash and i wanted a new smoker. I looked into some trailer smokers and looked into a Lang patio 36. but for the money i couldn't really justify that big a smoker for that kind of money. plus i would do something stupid like make 12 pork butts for just my wife and i. So after more research i decided to take my own advice and get the WSM for my smoking habit(obsession).
So here is my new Weber Smokey Mountian 22.5 inch getting it out of the box
Here it is assembled in my living room last week
here it is warming up to smoke i have the fire going and I'm about to smoke a brisket and london broil in the snow and sleet!
here it is going in the sleet and snow on its maiden smoke.
To see how the meat came out check my two new posts in the beef thread area for London Broil and Brisket( with QView)
Again i will say i love my WSM 22.5 and i think its one the best purchases i have made yet. i look forward to smoking with it more and i will post more qview with what i make on it.
thanks!
