I am new to smoking! I don't have a smoker and have been looking to buy/build one for some time. Id like to start with a small possible portable smoker to smoke some wild game and make some sausage.

Welcome to the site.  I'm not experienced in sausage smoking but I use a WSM and love it.  Check out mini wsm builds if you want to build your own.  I don't know the best smokers for successful sausage.

Welcome! Sounds like you have a specific skill you want to focus on. If you are going portable I agree with Mike, go with a Weber. Good luck!

I have found this forum informative and I thank you all. When I lived in Texas I had some of the greatest smoked and BBQ I've every enjoyed.
