The Beautiful NEW YORK CITY
Whats up everyone.

I want to build a wind protector for my WSM 18in. I live in NYC and the weather is going to be changing soon. This summer has been good but breezy. Experienced problems with wind already.

So this is what Im thinking is a simple or somewhat simple plywood box. I was going to build a frame out of 2x4s then nail on plywood walls. Making one wall a door so I can get to the fuel door to add wood or coals. so my questions are:

What do you think of my idea?

Should the walls extend to the ground?  If they go to the ground will it stop the smoker from getting air?

Thanks in advance for your opinions, and help.

One of the guys here has a setup similar to what you are contemplating building.

Only difference is he built his for 2 WSM's.

As soon as he sees this thread I'm sure he will send you a photo.

His is 3 sided & goes to the ground.
